Robert is an invaluable part of the Business Law Group team, providing essential paralegal support to attorneys Brian Melton, Christian Osterhout, and Katrina Ruff across a range of legal areas including business law, estate planning, and tax resolution. His work is driven by a strong commitment to excellence.
With a background centered on real estate transactions and business law, Robert brings extensive knowledge and practical experience to his role. His proficiency in overseeing transactions has been honed through years of hands-on experience, successfully facilitating real estate transactions with a total volume exceeding $700 million. Robert’s understanding of real estate law is grounded in practical application, where he has effectively managed various aspects of property transactions, from contract drafting to title searches and resolution of disputes.
Robert’s contributions to business law are just as significant. His sharp eye for detail ensures that business transactions proceed seamlessly. Robert has impressively navigated the formation of numerous business entities, leveraging his deep understanding of regulatory processes. Additionally, he works directly with the IRS to obtain Employer Identification Numbers (EINs) and files S-Corp elections, streamlining the process and ensuring that all legal and regulatory requirements are met efficiently.
Robert’s role also encompasses estate planning, where he thoughtfully contributes in the creation and management of wills, trusts, and powers of attorney. By meticulously drafting wills and establishing trusts, Robert ensures that assets are distributed according to the client’s desires and that beneficiaries are protected. Additionally, Robert assists with the preparation and execution of powers of attorney, empowering clients to make important decisions on their behalf in case of incapacity. As a paralegal specializing in tax law, Robert plays a vital role in preparing and organizing the documentation essential for effective tax resolution. He assists clients by gathering and presenting information for audit defense, ensuring a smooth and organized audit process. Robert also helps in the preparation of documentation for installment agreements and preparing offers in compromise, striving to secure favorable settlements with the IRS. His detail-oriented approach ensures that clients are thoroughly prepared to navigate complex tax issues effectively.
On a personal note, Robert originally moved from Michigan to South Carolina in 2019 to be closer to family. During this time, life took an unexpected and wonderful turn when he met his wife in Savannah, Georgia. Together, they later relocated to Colorado, where Robert enjoys hiking, exploring new restaurants, and getting lost in a good book.
